Georges Lautner (French: [lotnɛʁ]; 24 January 1926 – 22 November 2013[1]) was a French film director and screenwriter.
Attracted from its beginnings to comedy, Lautner is best known for having put in image the most famous replicas of Michel Audiard, french screenwriter and film director, (their most famous collaboration remaining Tontons flingueurs). His incursions into other genres (including Le Professionnel in 1981 or La Maison assassinée in 1988) were also popular with the public. He remains a great figure in the French comedy of the post-war period.
He was born in Nice, the son of actress Renée Saint-Cyr.[2]
