大衛·李維(David H. Levy,1948年5月22日-)是一位加拿大天文學家和科學作家。因為在1993年發現舒梅克-李維九號彗星而聞名。該彗星在1994年7月撞擊木星。

生平
李維於1948年5月22日出生於加拿大魁北克蒙特婁。他在年輕時就對天文有興趣;但他的學士和碩士學位卻是英語文學[1]。1967年時因為在會員管理上發生分歧,幾乎被加拿大皇家天文學會(Royal Astronomical Society of Canada)開除會籍[2]。1968年有位加拿大皇家天文學會的資深官員甚至說:「李維永遠不會有出息」(Levy will never amount to anything)[3]。一年後,李維和幾乎將他開除的伊莎貝爾·威廉森(Isabel Williamson)達成協議[4]。
李維發現了23顆彗星,有些是獨立發現,或者是和尤金·舒梅克、卡羅琳·舒梅克夫婦共同發現。他總共寫了34本書,大多數和天文有關,例如在2006年出版的「The Quest for Comets」;這是冥王星發現者克莱德·汤博的傳記。以及一本關於尤金·舒梅克的傳記「Shoemaker by Levy」。他也寫許多文章在天空與望遠鏡雜誌[5]、天空新闻台,以及天文學雜誌。
