Zee TV is an Indian cable and satellite television channel owned and operated by Zee Entertainment Enterprises, a media and entertainment company based in Mumbai, Maharashtra.[1] It airs programming in Hindi. It is India's first private cable channel. The channel is also available in various nations of Southeast Asia, Europe, the Caribbean, the Middle East, Africa, Australasia and North America. A part of the Essel Group, it started to broadcast on 2 October 1992 as the first Hindi-language cable channel in India.[2]


Zee TV HD was launched on 15 August 2011 along with Zee Cinema HD, Zee Studio HD. It overhauled its old logo on 15 October 2017, along with all other channels of the Zee Entertainment Enterprises.[3]

Overview


The channel mostly airs content intended for family and coming-of-age generations ranging from comedy to drama.[4] It also aired reality shows such as Shabaash India,[5]Sa Re Ga Ma Pa,[6]I Can Do That,[7]India's Best Cinestars Ki Khoj,[8] and Dance India Dance.[9]
